Thumbs up for KWSP

On the 15th December, I had all my documents prepared for EPF withdrawal "to purchase a house". The nearest EPF office from home is Bangunan KWSP @ Jalan Raja Chulan. So, after a hearty breakfast at Yut Kee Kopitiam @ Jalan Dang Wangi with my sister, we headed straight to Bangunan KWSP which is 5 minutes away.

It took us 5 minutes to park our car and took a lift up from the carpark to the Operation Counters. We spent 1 minutes to take the queue number and the information counter; and our number were called within 1 minute. We handed our documents to the respective officers (my sister was applying for hers too), and the officers were especially polite with their super duper big smiles. They took about 10 minutes to go through our documents, and took about 5 minutes to explain to us on the procedure and the amount eligible to withdraw from our EPF accounts. Then? DONE! My sister were told to check her bank account in 3 weeks times. However, mine was rejected. I was not angry or frustrated, how could when their excellent service impressed me so much. Further to that it was the bank's fault in typing my purchased unit wrongly.

I thought I was lucky that day.

After the Bank made an amendment on the unit number, Hubby and I went back to the same EPF Office @ Jalan Raja Chulan. This time, hubby applied his withdrawal for our home. Just like my first experience, 1 minute to take the queue number, 2 minutes waiting time to be called to the operation counter for the document submission. Again, the officer greeted me and invited me to sit. She was checking through the documents and explaining to me about the procedures and withdrawal amount all at the same time. "WOW" Multi-Tasking. And everything was completed in 10 minutes. Again, BEAUTIFULLY DONE! She even printed me a list who to contact in case the fund did not reach me in three weeks time.

Since I had done with my application, I walked towards hubby's counter. The officer was not there, and hubby was frowning. Then, I asked him " What Happened? Any documents missing? Cannot be? Mine approved! "Apparently, hubby has to submit an additional document since he purchased this home THREE YEARS AGO. Anyway, the officer was very kind. She called the bank on behalf of hubby and asked around where can my hubby obtain that particular set of document. Hubby told her that we are inexperience in purchasing properties and we were unsure about the different types of documents. She was so nice that she even helped us to talk to the Lawyer to ask for the document. WOW!!!!  Not just that, she told us that we can collect the document from the law firm on that day, and told us to come back here to look for her if we wanted to; and that she will be at the office working @ 7.30am.

What an excellent Department we had in Malaysia. I heard many rumours about difficulty getting their EPF at the retired age. This is so not true. I handed in my application on the 23rd December and the fund  was in my account on the 3rd January. 10 DAYS only. Hubby got his in  8 days, my sister got hers in about 10 days too, and my friend got hers in THREE (3) DAYS !!!!!!

Heap Heap Horray to KWSP!!!!
