2 Month Old Baby Chloe

It is all worth it!

My friend told me that reading my blog makes her reconsider stepping into motherhood. I AM SORRY la. I didn't realise that! "Paiseh." Muahahahah.

Maybe I am just a pure expertise in whining and when I start blogging, I have the tendency to complain complain and complain which unintentionally inflicted fear to some. But TODAY, I want to officially announce and share my most joyous moment to all that the birth of BABY CHLOE has brightened my life, lead my existence to the next level (motherhood).

Baby Chloe, Mama is so blessed to have you as my daughter. Noone ever said it is easy to be a mother or a father, but it is definitely a most happy and enjoyable moment to go through parenthood. Seeing you grow and change every day just melts our heart! We love to talk to you, we love to hear you respond with your baby language, we are proud to see you smile back to us when we communicate with you (especially Papa), we are delighted to discover everything new about your sleeping and eating pattern, we are waiting for you to call us Papa & Mama, we are waiting to see you walk and run, oh my, I can't wait to dress you up like a princess and take tonnes of photos. The happiness of parenthood is not easily described by words, you have to go through it yourself and feel it all by yourself. Everyone has a different experience but I am sure there is only one end result - HAPPINESS ! IT IS ALL WORTH IT!

Prayer's Night - "Bai Tin Gong" - 9th Day of CNY

Baby Chloe started crying for hunger at about 10.10pm. She was very frustrated and impatient, so I told my maid to give her 1oz of expressed milk while I was adjusting the mixture of Infant Formula. Right after the 1oz feed, my maid handed Baby Chloe over to me so that I could continue the feed with the new bottle of Infant Formula. However, Baby Chloe refused to drink it. Worrying that Baby Chloe might vomit if I forced it too much therefore I decided to stop there and waited for her to cry for hunger again.
We started playing with Baby Chloe, we talked to her, she responded with coo coo, ge ge, a a and of course the most beautiful smile :P. I also put her on her tummy, and realised that she is getting stronger each day. She managed to lift up her head with a good control of strength. Baby Chloe also turned her body herself with some strength from her left arms and pushed herself back to her normal lying position. Then, I tried again putting her on her stomach while talking to her. She lifted up her head easily and turned herself on her comfortable lying on her back position.
At about 11.30pm, she started to make noise again. Hubby quickly got ready the Infant Formula milk and started feeding her at 11.3opm. Baby Chloe did not finish the full 4oz, she had only 3oz. After that, we changed her soiled diaper and quickly put her to sleep before the prayer start at 12midnight. (9th Day of CNY - Bai Tin Gong - usually is a Hokkien Traditional Ritual to pray for prosperity). Unfortunately, fire crackers were everywhere. With the Blak Blak Blak Blak, Pong Pong Pong Pong "BOOM" continuously released until almost 1am, Baby Chloe did not want to sleep after the feed but was attracted by the noise of the fire crackers. It was the very first time that I think Fire Cracker is NOT BEAUTIFUL and INFACT it was annoying and unromantic at all. Stupid Fire Cracker disturb my Baby Chloe from her sleep.
Baby Chloe finally slept at 1am, and *sigh* woke up at 4am. I thought "shit, I messed it up but how?" I was too tired to get up to heat up any milk, without thinking much I breastfed Baby Chloe with a lying down position, hoping that I can get better rest. Baby Chloe was still crying after the feed, then only I realised that she was crying for her soiled diaper not hunger. Arggghhhh....... and I took 45 mins to realise it. After I changed her, I put her to sleep at 4am. TIRED~~~!!! Then, she woke up at 6.30am again for her feed. *Phew*
Tired, Tired, Tired. Now is 6.55am, while PaPa is resting, MaMa is doing her routine duty to ensure Baby Chloe's milk supply. After that, I have to get myself ready and back to work again. Going back to work is not as difficult as I thought. Infact, I love getting back to work. I felt a sense of achievement? fulfilling? as my time was fully occupied doing a lot of works. I thought I would miss Baby Chloe so much that I would call home every hour to check her out. Haha, I only called home twice yesterday. Maybe, the very first day of work, too much pending issues that I need to settle which occupied most of my time.
Time to get ready for work!

Third Formula Night

Okay, this time round, it works again.

Hubby mixed the Infant Formula with 4oz. of water and 3 scoops of powder, and I fed Baby Chloe at 10pm. Initially, she could only have 3oz. so I stopped there and burped her. Then I tried to make her sleep at around 10.20pm since her eyes were closed when I fed her. After patting her for 10 minutes, I put her on her crib. *sigh* As usual, she started moving here and there and refused to go to sleep even though she was yawning numerous times. Baby Chloe always likes to get full attention from us, once she knew we are going to leave her alone on her crib, she would try her best to keep herself awake. BABY CHLOE, YOU ARE SO NAUGHTY. Then, I decided to warm up the balance 1oz and feed her again. When Baby Chloe started to suckle the teats, her eyes were once again closed comfortably. *Phew* Finally, I managed to get her HALF-ASLEEP at about 11.30pm. I was a little tired and knowing that I need to get up early tomorrow for work so I just left her on her crib even though she was half asleep.

Haha... I pushed the responsibility to hubby and went straight to sleep at 11.30pm. HooRAY~~ Baby Chloe did a very very good job again. She woke up at 5am which both PaPa and Mama are very satisfied. It means the 4oz. of Infant Formula Feed lasted for 7 hours and she managed to have straight 5 1/2 hour sleep. Definitely an IMPROVEMENT compared to the First Formula Night. The second one was a mess!!!!

Tracking of the 3rd Infant Formula Feed

Last night I had a BBQ Party at Elayne's place with all my old school mates, we had fun catching up and discussing about pregnancy & babies issues. Hehe...and I was home late (around 12.30midnight). Immediately after I had arrived home, I quickly rushed to my room to start my pumping work. By the time I finished the pumping & shower, it was already almost 2am.

At about 2am, Baby Chloe woke up for a feed. I told my mum to prepare Enfalec A+ (HA) Formula with the ratio of 4oz water to 3 scoops of powder. I am not too sure what she did as the bottle was more than a 4oz milk (infact, i think it was about 5oz.) Therefore, I suspect she did not follow my mixture ratio. But she was too tired & sleepy, I didn't ask too much and told her to sleep and I will take care of Baby Chloe myself. When she handed the bottle and Baby Chloe to me, I didn't even look at the volume assuming that it was the 5oz that I saw and I started to feed Baby Chloe. I didn't want to overfeed Baby Chloe and thus I stopped the feed at the remaining of 1oz so that she would only get total of 4oz. But funny, Baby Chloe didn't seems to have enough as her mouth was still moving as if she was asking for more. So, I decided to change her diaper first and feed her the balance later if she still want it. When I threw the soiled diaper, I saw the empty bowl was filled with MILK. Arggghhhhh...what is that??? What did my mum do? So, was it a 4oz or 5oz bottle??? Did she poured out the extra to the empty bowl? or or or ??? Anyway, BIG BIG QUESTION MARK!!!!! Baby Chloe finished the remaining milk after the diaper change anyway.

The feed was at 2am and I got her to sleep at 2.30am. She woke up at 6am which means it was a 4 hours interval feed but a 3 1/2 sleep. SEE SEE SEE, this is what happened when MaMa goes out have fun!!! Messed up with the tracking of Baby's feeding pattern and sleeping pattern. My mum was trying to help out and I can't blame her for anything. Sob Sob Sob. And this incident also makes me THINK, my mum who is so closed to me, educated, smarter compared to my maid and she also did not do as what I have planned for. I believe my maid can't do any better than my mum. *SIGH* So how?? I am going back to work and I will be away from home from 7.30am to 7.30pm. So how so how????

Dar dar, you better work hard and pay me like what my father is paying me so that I can stay home to take care of your baby and have more babies! LOL.
