Baby Clarisse's First Hair Cut - Clean Shave

I must thank you my aunt once again for helping me to shave Baby Clarisse. This is not an easy task as Baby Clarisse was moving most of the time. With her experience, my mum and aunt took one hour to finish the shave. Ola! Baby Clarisse's New Look!

Sisters' Fun Time

How can I miss all these moment? That's why I hardly have times to update my blog. Occupied by two lovely & happy princesses everyday. :)

Where are the Updates?

Mama has not been updating her blog lately. This is because there is no complain during my confinement, plus Darling Chloe is always seeking for attention therefore I have no time to actually post some new photos of Baby Clarisse and keep the blog updated.

Also, I must admit. I have been addicted to a game called " Wedding Dash". Instead of spending the "expressing" time to blog, Mama was actually playing games. Hehehe...

Today, I have decided to upload some photos but I found out that ALL THE PHOTOS THAT I HAVE TAKEN were all missing. I am keeping myself CALM now because I want to wait for my brother to come back, perhaps he had downloaded all the photos to his MAC? HOPEFULLY. OTHERWISE, I am going to SCREAM at my brothers!

Papa is away (India Trip - Day 3)

Papa is away for the third day and we miss him much. Unfortunately, Mama fall sick (slight fever) and couldn't take care of Baby Clarisse and Darling Chloe. My mum and my sis helped me to take care of them in the night while I slept on the SOFA with LONG SLEEVE + JACKET + QUILT + BLANKET + TOWEL remedy for the night and luckily the recovery is almost immediate.

Thank God for helping me in the speedy recovery and I Thank God for giving me such a good family where helping hands are offered whenever I needed them. Also, I Thank God for giving me so many friends who care for me and I Thank God for giving me two lovely daughters who makes me happy and grant me willpower to be STRONG AND HEALTHY.

Papa is away (India Trip - Day 2)

Papa is away from home for business. *sigh* Initially he said he will be away for 3 days but ended up 5 days. Stupid Flight. Flying and Transit Time already taken up 2 days. Wish Papa can be home early.

Baby Clarisse so far is doing quite well. Stool & Urine are normal, drinking habit and sleeping habit are a little irregular but acceptable. Irregular in the sense that sometimes she would sleep straight for 4 -5 hours and sometimes she would drink in every hour... Baby Clarisse is an unpredictable Baby. Hehehe...But manageable. When Papa is away, grandma is taking charge of Baby Clarisse while Mama is taking charge of Chloe. I don't think I can manage two at the same time especially both cry at the same time.

Last night, Chloe woke up a few times crying for PAIN PAIN. I suspect it could be her teeth since she is drooling a lot lately, or perhaps it could be ulcer. Anyway, I believe it is a genuine pain because she rejected my ice-cream that I offered to her. WOW! She was so painful that she couldn't sleep well, cried and cried and cried the whole night. I tried to carry her and walk around, it didn't work. I tried to offer ice-cream and she rejected, it didn't work. I tried to give her my phone, it didn't work too. At the end of the day, I sang, I made milk, I gave her water, I tried to talk to her, I shouted at her....ALL didn't work too. Poor girl, I think her pain is really disturbing her so much so that nothing can stop her from crying.

After a while, she felt tired and asked for the milk. She drank the milk and watched some video from my iphone....gradually she fall asleep with Mama.

Hopefully, her pain will be AWAY and AWAY, please do not disturb her anymore. :(

Postnatal Massage Services

As I mentioned previously, I had signed up two Postnatal Packages, One is through online recommendation and the other one was kind of like "force" to sign when I went to the motherhood fair. But anyway, these are the review:-

Postnatal Home Visit Service by Bella Luna :-
5 x Home Visit include 1hr Massage, Sea Salt Scrub, Wrap & Steam, Tummy Bidding with Jamu Mask
3 x Prenatal Massage (1 Hour)
5 x Studio Service (1 1/2Hour)
1 x FOC Bidding Belt
3 x FOC Ampules
10 x Ampules (Additional) - RM 478.00/Box
Total Service Cost : RM 1599.00

Review :-
1) Prenatal Massage was very soothing, and it made me sleep better after the massage
2) I enjoyed the 5 x Home Visit Service. After the 5 times, my weight still maintain the same 53.8Kg but my tummy is slight smaller. Hmm.....
3) However, one thing about ALL SALOONS, consultants and therapists are trained to force sell packages. Even though I had signed up and haven't even started using the studio service, they kept on selling you "something". I had already signed up 3 TIMES though I had only used 9 times of their services. Balance services as at today is 14 times. *sigh*
4) Honestly, they have fairly good service and their therapists are really very hardworking and do their job well. I would rate their service 8/10.
5) Sigh ... So eventually I actually spent more than the initial COST...and this is their tactic. Sell you the cheap and reasonable package then get you to top up again and again....

Shadira Postnatal Service
7 x Malay Traditional Urut
7 x Hot Stone Service
Cost : RM 1,000.00

Review:-
1) I have just realised that I have been overcharged. The normal service is about RM 60.00 per visit. I have gotten the contact AFTER I had signed up for this package. *sigh*
2) The masseur that Shadira sent was OK. Nice Lady and Hardworking too.
3) Effective or not? Not sure..only had 7 urut, can't really see much of the result.
4) Not so relaxing because I didn't get to sleep because she is talking all the time.
5) Service rating is 6/10
6) But I would recommend the Hot Stone Service, it is very comforting especially when the masseur placed it on my stomach.

Baby Clarisse and Mama Chris' Second Week @ Home

Those who know me well, surely understand that there is not much that I can complain during my confinement period since I did not blog as frequent as my previous confinement. Maybe because this my SECOND confinement with the same setup and same helpers, so everyone is coping easily as compared to the FIRST experience. My mum is preparing most of my food and she made and effort to change the menu every day, and I feel so lucky to have her to prepare my delicious meal every day. Plus, she and my maid are helping me to take care of Baby Clarisse and Jie Jie Chloe whenever I need to pump my milk or urut session.

My confinement so far is quite easy as I mentioned before that my mum is very lenient and she believes more on hygiene and taking in balance diet. So, let me list down what did I have so far :-

Lunch:-
1) Sesame Oil + Ginger + Wine + Soup (Chicken/ Pork/ Eggs/ Black Fungus/ Pork Intestine)
2) Sesame Oil + Ginger + Egg + Fried Rice (My Favourite)
3) Hing Hua Mee Sua (Our Traditional Noodle which is usually prepared during festive period i.e. CNY, Birthday etc)
4) Pork Chop

Dinner:-
1) Kai Lan
2) Brocolli + Carrot
3) Mashed Potato
3) Grilled Salmon
4) Steam Cod Fish
5) Deep Fried Pork Chop (Special Recipe by my mum)
6) Grilled Chicken
7) Pig Stomach Soup with Black Pepper
8) Papaya Soup

It seems limited but they are SO DELICIOUS. Yum Yum..to be honest, better than the normal dinner that I usually had before my confinement started because all these dishes are prepared by my mum. *Happy*

How can I complain when I got all these privileges and helping hands around me? :P

Also, Baby Clarisse has been behaving ...err..so far so good... (shhh....PATANG....cannot say so much)! :P Hahahaa...

Angry Mama & Notti Papa

Since last two nights, Hubby and I agree to bring up Baby Clarisse to sleep together with us in the same room. I didn't want my mum to stress too much since I have already recovered, can't bear to see her with the really "RED EYES" due to lack of sleep. Anyway, I think I am capable to handle.

Since Hubby agrees to it, so I expect him to put as much effort as possible, just like when we first had Chloe with us. He heated the milk, he burped Chloe, He tried to help and be awake every moment that Chloe was awake.

But NOW? He went out for drink last night. I really don't mind him going out for a drink since he told me he will be back as early as possible. I reminded him, i need his help because there are two babies in the room. I can't handle both at the same time if both wakes up. He told me ok and he will be back NOT DRUNK. *sigh*

He came home at 12 midnight, and he looked so drunk. He went into the toilet and took a shower, and I went straight to sleep without talking to him because I know he was already DRUNK. No point. When I wake up at 3.30am to feed Baby Clarisse, I realised that he's not in the room. Ha! I found out that he vomited badly in the toilet and slept in the toilet. STUPID PAPA. SO IRRESPONSIBLE. My Baby Clarisse is only ONE WEEK OLD!

DRINK ALL YOU WANT, AND LEAVE US! HMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dealing with Darling Chloe

I have been neglecting Darling Chloe a lot, since the day the pain started during my pregnancy. I couldn't recall exactly when, but for a long long time. She always ask me for "PO PO" (Carry) but I refused because I have a split muscle which causing my extremely low abdomen while carrying Baby Clarisse, and I also have this loose joints at the pelvic area. So, I always tell Chloe to ask Kakak (My Maid) and Papa (Hubby) to "PO PO" her whenever she asked for it. AND NOW? I asked her to come and let Mama "PO PO", her only response for me is always "NO NO NO" and then she would start crying and ask Kakak to carry her if Hubby is not around. She is already two and I actually don't encourage hubby to carry her so much. But Hubby has his point, Chloe is growing taller and bigger every day, if He missed this chance of carrying her now, he will never get it back. I totally understand what's hubby's point of view. But it is so sad to receive such a rejection from  my darling. I couldn't stop myself from tearing (not much la, a little emotional, perhaps is the postpartum effect).

And now, I am not sleeping with her anymore because I have to take care of Baby Clarisse and I didn't want to disturb hubby and Chloe, so I moved to another room and at the same time getting helping hands from my mum in the night. I need to spend more time with her and get back the bond.

She is no longer listening to me, and not afraid of me anymore. She ignores my instructions, and refuses to come to me when I call her. *sigh*.... She wants Kakak and not Mama....Sad Sad Sad.....

I told myself that once I have recovered fully, I must spend more bonding time with her.

I am also having problems overcoming her fears. Will try to surf the net and get more information in overcoming toddlers' fear. She is sticking too much to her OLD CARTOON characters and soft toys, she is afraid of the DIBO that I bought for her, she is afraid of all the Animal soft toys except Barney and Bears, She is afraid of a CUTE MICKEY MOUSE CHAIR that grandma bought for her because it has a beep sound whenever she gets up from the chair, She is afraid of Parachute Ride which suppose to build her confidence in the Playclass, she is afraid of the rides in those shopping centers. Gosh... How should I go about to overcome her fears.... I have been getting too much  "NO NO NO" from her.

Baby Clarisse's First Week

27th August
- Baby Clarisse arrived in the afternoon, and she was sent to Mama for breastfeeding. Initially, she didn't want to latch on; refused to wake up for milk. But somehow Mama manage to feed her (dunno how much) but according to the nurse Baby Clarisse poo three times means there was milk intake. Hehehe....I thought I can breastfeed her successfully because NO SORE NIPPLE - Yeah~ !

28th August
- Mama, Papa & Baby Clarisse were still in the Hospital resting. As usual, Baby Clarisse was sent to Mama again for breastfeeding every 2 - 3 hours. I could hear the sound of swallowing when I feed her. Mama was so happy. I thought finally Mama can breastfeed her without going through any difficulties. But from late afternoon onwards, somehow Baby Clarisse was very cranky while Mama was breastfeeding her, and I couldn't hear any sign of feeding. OH NO.... Mama does not have enough milk to satisfy Baby Clarisse. I fed her for more than 2 hours but she did not seem to be satisfied. We seek for nurse's help and she said I should rest since my nipples were already SORE, and Baby Clarisse was hungry. We had no choice but to agree to feed twice supplement in the night while Mama can rest well for recovery.

29th August
- Mama & Baby Clarisse arrived home. Immediately Mama tried to pump some milk to night feeding so that I can rest in the night. BUT, I realised that Mama did not have enough milk. I can't even produce 1oz of milk for the first 2 pumps. Sob Sob Sob...Mama insisted to breastfeed Baby Clarisse in the daytime, but again we had to feed her supplement twice in the night again.
- 3 stools & many diapers changed for urine.

30th August
- Lots of fluid was taken - fenugreek seed drink, milk tea drink, red dates drinks by Mama, but still low in supply of milk. I was only able to pump 1 oz of milk or LESS each time. But I accumulated the milk for night feeding, and breastfeed her in the day. But somehow, SOMEONE fed her twice supplement instead of using my pumped breastmilk.
- 2 stools & Normal Urine

31th August
- Continue with the fluid - fenugreek seed, milk tea, read date drinks, but still low in supply. However, there is an improvement as Mama could pump 1oz of milk each time. But I didn't manage to feed Baby Clarisse direct because she was rejecting my nipple and frustrated everytime I fed her. It could be the difference between bottle feed and direct feeding. The flow of the bottle feed is definitely faster, and Baby Clarisse was getting very impatient everytime I tried to breastfeed her. She was mostly bottle fed on that day, and I tried to direct feed her two times only BUT that two times is almost one and half hour each time. Sigh... But still managed without formula... breastmilk only.
- 3 stools & Normal Urine

1st September
- Finally able to pump 2oz each time but I didn't have much time to pump every 2-3 hour as Mama's urut session started and I need to take care of the Baby myself because the helper left. My mum helped me in the night. All Breastmilk fed, managed it without formula.
- 2 stools & Normal Urine

2nd September
- Mama & Baby Clarisse back to the Hospital for review. Both healthy and Mama is recovering. Doctor told Mama to avoid stairs and carrying heavy stuffs because it will take some times for my pelvic bone to recovery. Baby Clarisse has slight jaudice as expected because I was SERVED with ginger meals every session but My mum agreed to stop the ginger for now. Mama is able to pumped 2oz of milk each time and manage to accumulate for night feeding. However, Baby Clarisse refused to latch on and get very cranky everytime I tried to feed her direct. I could see there is milk flowing but perhaps my position of feeding was not comfortable for her until Hubby gave me the Breastfeeding Pillow and placed her there, and that was the only time that she managed to drink and sleep without complaining. Yeah~ No Formula!

3rd September
- Yeah~~~ ONE WEEK! There is a slight increase of milk supply. Every pump is about 3 - 4oz in total.I will continue my fluid intake and eat properly to ensure enough milk supply. But Mama is actually a little worried because this time round the milk supply is very low compared to last pregnancy. I worried that I might not be able to feed for 6 months. Hubby is very supportive, he said try my best, if really cannot we can feed formula, don't be overstressed.

The Arrival of My 2nd Princess - Baby Clarisse Chan

I am finally well enough to blog... Yeah, I was not able to sit properly for the past three days because of the stitches. Anyway, I am well now and able to blog and pump milk at the same time.

Baby Clarisse EDD was on the 28th August, due to pain at my pelvic bone and sleepless nights, I have decided to go for an induction which Dr. Ravi gave me the choice of 27th or 30th. To me, the earlier the better, so I have decided to opt for induction to welcome the arrival of Baby Clarisse on the 27th August 2010.

27th August 2010
6.45am - Hubby and I left home with our Baby Bag and Necessities

7.10am - Arrived Hospital

7.30am - We headed straight to the Labour Ward, and we were sent to Ward No. 6.

7.45am - The midwife came in to got me changed and clear my bowel. Then, I was strapped with the Monitor to track Baby's Heartbeat and Contraction.

8.00am - Dr. Ravi came and inserted Oxytocin. He told me that it will take 45mins to take effect.

9.30am - Breakfast at the ward with Hubby. Hubby had the Nasi Lemak and I had the Bread with Butter.

10.00am - I did not feel the contraction but through the monitor, it shows there were mild contractions going on.

11.00am - Finally I felt the contraction but it was manageable with relaxing breathing. I put on some relaxing and meditation music to relax my mind. The midwife checked the dilation was only 4cm. GOSH....Before the oxytocin, I was actually 2cm dilated already. WHY SO SLOW?

12.00am - The contractions came stronger and stronger, and It was only 12noon. The midwife told us that the baby might come at 3pm by looking at the contraction. She asked me whether I need painkiller or not, but it was still manageable so I told her not yet. But she taught me how to use the Entonox and I didn't reject her because the contractions was actually quite distinct at that time.

12.30am - The actual pain came stronger, and I was not able to track how close is the contraction because I took every moment to relax when there was no contraction. Thanks to hubby, he was besides me supporting me, holding my hands, helping me to relax. Entonox was used eventually, hahaha...

12.45am - The sensation of ....errr ... passing motion plus the Contraction. It was painful enough that I actually called for the Midwife for Painkiller. But she said before she gave me the anesthetic, she needs to check my dilation first. After she checked, she told me that I was already 8cm dilated and no point giving me the anesthetic. She told me to use the Entonox, and she went out to call for the Doctor. I was thinking at that time, gosh, now is only 12.45am, I have 3 more hours to go if it goes according to the midwife prediction, otherwise it might even drag until 5pm. So how? Hubby helped me through the fast breathing (ACTUALLY the midwife saw us, and she told us this is the wrong method, we should do DEEP BREATHING..hahaha). True enough, when I did the "fast" breathing, I was actually using more strength as I grabbed hubby's hand tightly. But my pain tolerance had limited me from DEEP breathing. I tried but at the end, I had to use the ENTONOX to help on the Deep breathing. Hahahahaha...

1.00pm - Midwives and Nurses came in. They were preparing for the delivery. No jokes, Baby Clarisse is coming anytime soon. I don't have to wait for another 3 hours or 5 hours.

1.XXpm - Dr. Ravi came in, he broke my water bags first. Then, he waited for the contraction to come. Once it was here, the midwives and hubby started to shout PUSH PUSH PUSH... hahaha..then I realized that "oh, my baby is really coming" because I thought as Dr. Ravi broke the water bag, I still need to wait for another hour or so for the remaining 2cm dilation. But it was not the case!!! The second contraction came again, and people around me shouted PUSH PUSH PUSH...and I did. I could feel every sensation of how Baby Clarisse came out. I could feel her head pushing through then Dr Ravi Pulled her out quickily, and I could even feel Baby Clarisse's legs pushing out. Gosh.. This is a total different experience from Chloe. WHO SAID THE ANESTHETIC is useless. Hahaha... I finally understand that the differences between using PAINKILLER and NO PAINKILLER. I didn't have this much of sensation and feeling when I had Chloe. This time round, I felt everything and even the stitches.

Phew...finally my second princess came into my life on the 27th August 2010.
