Clarisse is now 17 months old

Wow, My Baby is already 17 months now. I used to describe her as a "Cool" girl as it was very difficult to make her smile. This is not the case anymore, Jie Jie Chloe has been doing a good job and get our Baby Clarisse laugh a lot lately. TODAY, MaMa would describe Baby Clarisse as a fun and cheeky little girl.

As I mentioned before, she is still the INDEPENDENT girl. She always like to do things in her own way and all by herself, she doesn't want anyone to disturb her.

At this age, she is able to chew everything properly and not choked (like her Jie Jie Chloe). She doesn't like to be fed, she like to eat her food on her own, and honestly I absolutely LOVE her decision of eating on her own, so that I can get the chance to enjoy my meal. :P Sigh, unfortunately, Chloe dear is still very very very pampered (manja), she is already 3+ and yet she always want MaMa or KaKak to feed her. Even when she decides to eat on her own, I can't never get my eyes off her because she tends to make a mess with her food, and the worst part is that she touches her face, hair, shirt, pants, everywhere with her oily and dirty hands. Ewwww.... Baby Clarisse is totally the opposite. Baby Clarisse would usually complain if her hands are dirty, so that we can clean for her. Well, Chloe does that too WHEN HER MOOD IS GOOD! :P

MaMa thinks Chloe is a great influence to Clarisse. Chloe cheers Clarisse up, teaches her what she learns and what she knows to Clarisse. That's why Clarisse can sing now. She can sing almost a full song of ABC, parts of twinkle twinkle little stars, itsy bitsy spider, I Love You song etc etc. Clarisse loves to dance. These two little girls would turn on the music on their mini electric keyboard and start dancing happily with lots of laughter.

Clarisse loves to eat CHEESE. Whenever she sees MaMa in the kitchen, she would go to the Fridge and ask for CHEESE! CHEESE! CHEESE!

Clarisse can speak quite well now, she learning colors - Blue, Green, Pink, Red.. I can see she loves PINK and GREEN alot because these are the colors she mentioned MOST.

----------------------------------------------------

Darling Clarisse,

MaMa loves the way you laugh. Your laughter is like Sunshine, and MaMa love SUNSHINE!
MaMa wants to spend more time with Clarisse, to play, to read, to dance....whatever you like to do. Of course, Jie Jie Chloe loves Mui Mui Clarisse a lot too. She will be with you always and MaMa hope that you and Jie Jie can take care of each other.

Love,
MaMa

LOST - will being a little superstitious helps my child?

Chloe's sick diary started since she was 6 months old. Till date, she still fall sick frequently. It is so frequent that I am getting really worried.

She fell sick on early dec for ONE whole week due to tonsillitis.
Then it came to early Jan - It was again tonsillitis
Followed by End Jan - It was once again tonsillitis.
Early Feb - Fever again but not tonsillitis, mild flu

She had just recovered from her fever 2 days ago, and once again her fever is back last night with 39 deg C.

Her fever always hit so high that I can never have a peaceful mind. Her fever is disturbing my mind so badly that I cannot concentrate with whatever I do.

Last week, I went to see the specialist - pediatric, I went to see a neighborhood GP, I went to the Chinese Herbs Store bought lots of Herbal Teas, I went to see Chinese Doctor, I recited more than 20 times of Great Compassion Mantra last night......

Do I need to go to the extent to pray at those Taoist Temple to get "Fu Shui" for healing? Goshhhhh...........

Dr. Patrick recommended tonsillectomy (tonsil removal) so that Chloe doesn't need to suffer from falling sick frequently. Or, I should just go visit the ENT specialist for advise? I really do not want to put Chloe under the knife at such young age.

Chinese Doctor recommended 1 year of chinese medication to reduce the tonsil problem.

I am so LOST. What is best for my child? What should I do? Sigh

Happy Valentines Day

When it is least expected, the unexpected surprised me on this "not so special day".

Since the very first day that I met him, he never celebrated any Valentines Day with me because he doesn't believe in it. I had never received any gifts, flowers or even an arranged candle-light dinner on Valentines Day because it means nothing to him but a deceitful occasional for consumers to have more reasons to spend.

Anyway, I had a surprised "Happy Valentines Day!" wishes from him in the morning. That was sweet enough as I didn't expect any wishes from him. I thought why not we just have a simple dinner outside since he just came back from his business trip. I casually asked, "So, dinner tonight?"

"See first." He replied, as expected. He likes to answer "see first", "let you know later", "decide later" which I have to make myself available whether it is gonna happen or not.

Anyway, I thought it is ok if there won't be any dinner, I will just ask my friend out for dinner or simply go back home for dinner. I have become wiser after years of struggling to accept the fact that there is no Valentines Day for me.

Approaching evening, I called him, wanted to see how I can arrange a dinner together with my friend since I have not seen her for a while.

He took me with another surprise by telling me that he had made a booking for dinner somewhere.

He picked me up from my office @ 7.30pm and we had our Valentines Dinner @ Chez Rose @ Damansara Height serving delicious Austrian Cuisine.

The day didn't end perfectly as we received a call from home that Chloe is sick again. She had just recovered from her fever 2 days ago, and she is sick again. She has been sick for 6 times in 3 months. The gap of her falling sick is getting closer. It was once a month, then it came twice a month, and now, it is only weekly basis. The thought of Chloe being sick is put off the mood instantly. we gobbled up our main course, and checked the bill even without the dessert.

Anyway, it was an indeed HAPPY VALENTINES DAY for me even though it didn't end perfectly.

Thank you.

Lion Dance

On the 8th Day of Chinese New Year, which is said to be the auspicious day to be back to work,  we had a Lion Dance Session at the office to mark the first day of Work.

MaMa told Chloe how excited I am to see the Traditional Lion Dance. My purpose was to lure her to be as excited as I was so that she would attempt to join me to experience the Lion Dance.

Chloe never like Lion Dance, and she is totally afraid of it. Before she can reach the actual scene, she would be frightened off by just hearing the sound of the drums and cymbals. Papa attempted many times to bring her closer so that she can have a good look at it. Due to her first "EXTREMELY frightening" experience (thanks to Papa), she always keep a distance away from the Chinese Traditional Lion Costume/Display at the Shopping Mall. She would stay to scream if I ever get closer to the Display (@ Tangs, that's why I never get into Tangs during the CNY).

Anyway, before I left home, I thought I tried to ASK both girls if they would like to join me at the office for the Lion Dance Performance. I didn't expect a "YES: reply from them, that's why both of them were still in their pajamas.

Suprisingly, Chloe told MaMa that she wants to follow MaMa to work for the Lion Dance Performance. I was delighted to hear it as it is a good start to break her fear of the Chinese Cultural Lion Dance Performance.

They were both changed into white dresses and followed MaMa to Work. On the way to MaMa's workplace, MaMa was trying to find a way to introduce Lion Dance to Clarisse. First, Clarrise is two years younger and she has never approached to such extend of "Noise"/ Sound from the drums and cymbals. And this is what happened. In spite of Clarisse's younger age, Clarisse is nevertheless a more receptive? adventurous? daring? whichever words to describe her, what I wanted to say I don't' expect her to like the Performance and the Noise, but I don't expect her to scream an cry like Chloe.

Anyway, let's see what happened!

Chinese Traditional Lion Dance Performance at MaMa's Desk, on the 8th of Chinese New Year, 2012. It resembles a good start of work, to bring "ONG" (a.k.a Good Luck) at works.

Clarisse reacted calm, and she never loose sight of the Chinese Cultural Lion. Even though she did not show any excitement on her facial expression, she remained calm and a good girl for the whole performance.

Let's see How Chloe reacted?

Hahahahahahahaa.......
Sorry, Can't help it. I really find it very funny till now.
Dear Chloe , It is just a imitation Lion. MaMa already told you that they are not going to bite you or hurt you. Don't Cry!

No matter how many times MaMa ensures Chloe that the lion will not hurt her because MaMa will be there for her at all times, but still when I tried to get closer to the Lion Dance for the photo shooting.....It is needless for me to describe, please look the photo.

Well, I must agree and praise Chloe for her improvement. She can now keep 5ft away from the lion, and view the performance with LESS fear. After the event, She proudly showed the Lion Dance Video to Clarisse, to Novi, to Grandma, to her little friends. She admitted to everyone that she was afraid of the Lion Dance, but she said she would want to view the performance again next time. She added, PaPa or MaMa must HOLD her tight during the performance. Hahahahaha.....
